Nurse Practitioner/ Physician Assistant
Job Summary: The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant will take responsibility for orchestrating specialty care in an outpatient setting. The advanced practice practitioner shall assess, diagnose and develop a plan of care for patient with gastrointestinal illnesses in conjunction with the gastroenterologist and will work as part of the ongoing care team. Competency in performing diagnostic tests will be expected: training will be provided.
Preferred Experience: Two years previous NP or PA experience (preferably in an outpatient gastroenterology or primary care practice)
Work Hours: Monday through Friday Daytime hours with an option to work four days a week.
No call coverage required.
Qualifications:
MA licensed/registered NP or PA
NPI number and be Medicare enrolled with Medicare Identification Number (or PTAN)
Or be eligible for Medicare Enrollment (eligibility criteria for NP requires National Certification through AANP or ANCC, and Master’s Degree) (eligibility requirement for PA requires graduation from an accredited PA program and National Certification through NCCPA.)
Current CPR certification through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross
