Job Description
Rafter J Industries is a growing civil construction company with a project pipeline valued at over $70 million. As a Concrete Superintendent with Rafter J, you will oversee all aspects of concrete construction activities on-site. You will be responsible for managing and coordinating concrete operations, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Oversight: Supervise and coordinate daily concrete operations on-site, including pouring and placement of heavy industrial concrete.
- Team Management: Lead and manage a team of concrete workers, including subcontractors, ensuring high performance, safety, and adherence to project specifications.
- Quality Control: Monitor concrete quality and workmanship to ensure compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
- Schedule Management: Develop and maintain project schedules, coordinating with other trades and project managers to ensure timely completion.
- Safety Compliance: Enforce and adhere to all safety regulations and protocols on-site, conducting regular safety meetings and inspections.
- Material Management: Oversee the procurement and handling of concrete materials, ensuring timely delivery and proper storage.
- Problem-Solving: Identify and address issues and delays promptly, implementing solutions to keep the project on track.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of daily activities, work progress, and any changes to project scope or schedule.
- Communication: Act as the primary point of contact for clients, project managers, and other stakeholders, providing updates and addressing concerns.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in concrete construction, with a proven track record in a supervisory role.
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; relevant technical certifications or vocational training preferred.
Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of concrete construction techniques, materials, and equipment.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Proficiency in project scheduling and coordination.
Certifications
- OSHA certification or other relevant safety certifications preferred.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy materials, work in various weather conditions, and stand or walk for extended periods.
