The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Missouri School of Medicine is actively recruiting an experienced Orthopaedic Spine Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to become an integral part of our dynamic and high-performing team. We are anchored by the Missouri Orthopaedic Institute (MOI) which is the largest and most comprehensive freestanding orthopaedic center in the region.
This role will collaborate closely with clinical faculty, as well as staff, to champion the overall culture and progress of the Missouri Orthopaedic Institute and the C3 Orthopaedics Initiative (Comprehensive, Cutting Edge, Caring Culture). Together, we aim to cultivate a dynamic learning environment and foster continuous improvement, aligning with our mission.
MOI houses approximately 400 staff members and more than 30 physicians who specialize in sports medicine, pediatrics, orthopaedic oncology, general orthopaedics, hip and knee, foot and ankle, shoulder and elbow, hand and wrist, spine and trauma care. The institute provides space for inpatient surgeries, outpatient procedures as well as a full-service therapy clinic. Our reputation for patient care, education and research has made us one of the fastest growing practices in the Midwest.
Position Highlights
- Mixture of inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Team approach – Collaborate with fellows and residents on the floor.
- Mentorship from experienced ORS Spine APP.
- Work closely with a dynamic team comprising of more than 25 seasoned on-site Orthopaedic Surgeons and 9 accomplished on-site non-surgical Orthopaedic Physicians.
Requirements
- Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (APRN) licensure by the Missouri State Board of Registration for the Healing Arts.
- Specialty certificate by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) in Orthopaedic Surgery preferred.
- Orthopaedic Surgery experience strongly preferred.
