The Mailworks is a woman owned family business specializing in the creation and distribution of direct mail campaigns for a nation-wide customer base. The Mailworks operates 24 hours a day, usually 6 days a week. The team of 90+ employees range from executives, marketing specialists, designers, developers, and production workers.
The Digital Marketing Specialist will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing the digital marketing strategy of The Mailworks. This position involves collaborating on and implementing comprehensive digital marketing campaigns, managing the company website, overseeing paid social media and video content strategies, analyzing digital marketing performance, and collaborating with the marketing, sales, and client services teams to ensure brand and offering consistency. The ideal candidate will be proficient in WordPress CMS, SEO, email marketing, online advertising, PPC campaigns, and have a proven track record of driving revenue through digital marketing initiatives.
Duties:
DIGITAL MARKETING STRATEGY
- Develop and implement comprehensive digital marketing strategies that align with the company's overall business goals. This includes meeting specific objectives, identifying target audiences, selecting appropriate digital channels, and staying within budget for various digital marketing initiatives (such as SEO, PPC, social media, email marketing, and content marketing).
- Conduct in-depth research to understand the needs, preferences, and behaviors of the target audience. Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and the digital landscape to identify opportunities and challenges.
- Coordinate with the Content Marketing Specialist to develop a content strategy that supports SEO objectives, engages the target audience, and reinforces brand messaging across all digital platforms.
- Ensure that digital content (including blogs, videos, social media posts, and web copy) is optimized for search engines and user engagement.
- Integrate digital marketing plans with offline marketing efforts to provide a seamless customer experience.
- Stay current on the latest digital marketing technologies, tools, and best practices.
- Evaluate new digital technologies and platforms (such as marketing automation, AI-driven analytics, etc.) to enhance the effectiveness of digital marketing efforts.
- Develop strategy for engaging paid content for various social media platforms to promote interaction and enhance the brand's online presence.
DIGITAL MARKETING EXECUTION
- Execute all paid digital marketing efforts, including search engine marketing (SEM), social media advertising, display advertising, video advertising, content marketing, retargeting/remarketing campaigns, mobile advertising and more as needed.
- Maintain relevant certifications and stay up-to-date on best practices in digital marketing to ensure campaigns are effective and leverage the latest industry standards and techniques.
- Design and implement A/B testing and other experimental approaches to optimize the performance of digital marketing efforts.
WEBSITE MANAGEMENT
- Ensure website content is current, relevant, and engaging to the target audience. This includes text, images, videos, and blog posts, ensuring all content is SEO-optimized and aligns with the brand's voice and messaging strategy.
- Ensure the website's technical health by regularly updating the CMS, plugins, and any scripts to the latest versions. Address technical issues such as broken links & page speed optimization.
- Coordinate with the development team or outside parties to ensure the website is secure from hacking and malware. Monitor website uptime and take corrective actions in case of downtime.
- Implement and monitor SEO strategies to improve the website's visibility and ranking in search engine results pages.
- Use analytics tools to track website performance metrics such as traffic, bounce rate, conversion rates, and user behavior insights. Use this data to make informed decisions on content, design, and strategy adjustments.
- Collaborate with design, development, or outside parties to enhance the website's design, ensuring it is visually appealing, aligns with the brand's identity, and provides an intuitive and user-friendly experience across various devices.
PERFORMANCE ANALYSIS AND OPTIMIZATION
- Use analytics tools to analyze performance metrics such as traffic, conversion rates, engagement rates, and ROI.
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for all digital marketing activities to measure success.
- Develop and present regular reports to the marketing team and executive leadership that provide insights into the effectiveness of marketing strategies and campaigns to inform decision-making and future strategies.
- Work closely with other marketing team members to ensure optimization efforts are integrated and aligned across all channels.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing or related field, digital focused coursework a plus
- 3+ years of proven experience in developing and executing successful digital marketing strategies (B2B preferred)
- Strong understanding of WordPress CMS and website management, HubSpot, and other relevant digital platforms.

Physical Requirements:
- Primarily a desk job; requires long periods of sitting and working on a computer. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear . The employee frequently is required to sit; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
- Assist with event setup and various other initiatives. For example, this includes department tasks as needed such as assistance putting up backdrops, hanging signage, traveling to trade show events, etc.
