Job Description
We are a private allergy, asthma, and immunology medical practice that has been providing highly individualized care to pediatric and adult patients in the South Bay for over 30 years. We have offices in Torrance and El Segundo and attract patients from a wide geographic area.
We seek a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our team of four physician providers.
Responsibilities will include:
- Diagnose and treat patients with asthma, allergic rhinosinusitis, atopic dermatitis, food allergies and urticaria; assist in the operation of our allergy immunotherapy program
- Follow-up on care plans established by other providers
- Prescribe all necessary medications and modify treatment plans under the supervision of the medical providers
- Perform comprehensive physical examinations on patients
- Learn how to assess outcomes of oral food challenges in patients with severe food allergies
- Learn how to manage anaphylaxis in the setting of our allergy immunotherapy program
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working with allergy & asthma patients is highly desirable (it is not a requirement). On-site mentoring will be an ongoing part of the experience.
- Ability to build rapport with patients of all ages and their families
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
This part-time position initially offers 3-5 half-day shifts per week. Adding hours to the schedule will be considered as your patient volume increases.
