The Lead Server's day-to-day work includes routinely setting up, clearing and cleaning and resetting dining room. You would be taking menu orders and serving residents and guests meals in a timely and gracious manner. You will be providing quality customer service to residents and guests.
Pay: $21.28-26.30/hr depending on experience
Part Time Schedule: 3:30 PM - 7:00 PM, Rotating Shifts
Must be available to work weekends
Job Duties:
- Training newly hired servers;
- Oversight of host/hostess, bussers, and food runners;
- Knowledge of and ability to describe a menu in detail with 20 or more entrees;
- Able to understand and explain our dining "point" system to residents and guests;
- Greets residents and guests promptly as they arrive at their table;
- Records accurate food and beverage orders and input into the POS system;
- Explains how menu items are prepared, describing ingredients and cooking methods;
- Informs guests of daily specials, makes recommendations;
- Attends pre-shift Showtime meetings, listening to menu descriptions and taking notes as needed to remember ingredients and allergy alerts
- Carries service tray in correct placement of orders to facilitate service of food and beverages;
- Completes bussing, runner, meal plater, utility and catering duties as needed or assigned;
- Refills beverages throughout the meal service
- Handles guest complaints in a positive and professional manner, referring to supervisor as appropriate;
- As assigned works all shifts and holidays;
- As assigned, performs catering function set up, break down and service;
- Maintains front of house and kitchen sanitation requirements;
- Communicates appropriately with supervisors and dining room staff;
- Set tables with silverware, saucers, bread plates, cups, water glasses, etc.;
- Fill water pitchers, coffee pots, napkin and bread baskets; prepares juice and milk or milk carts; folds napkins; places butter and creamers, jellies; prepares and oversees buffets and salad bars;
- Wait on residents, taking orders, serving food, beverages, and desserts; serves up desserts and salads; cleans off dishes as resident's finish eating;
- Handle food in accordance with sanitary and recognized food serving standards;
- Responsible for adhering to HIPPA privacy rules and company policies, procedures and practices which require that resident-identifiable health information will only be used to perform the essential functions of this job.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
To be successful in the role, you would have:
- One year serving experience in a restaurant setting required, two years preferred.
- Food Handler's required, ServSafe certification preferred.
- Availability that might include evenings, weekends, & holidays.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
