Supplier Quality Technician at Ditch Witch:
This employee principally helps oversee the quality system for Ditch Witch products. He or she also helps other employees with quality projects, training, and evaluating condition of product.
What Will You Do?
Reads, analyzes, and interprets information from a variety of sources, including service and operator's manuals, drawings, photographs, engineering specifications, notes, etc.
Records and initiates investigation of complaints from various areas across the facility.
Interprets machine prints, welding prints, electrical schematics, hydraulic schematics, process flow charts, routing of parts, etc. to contain and resolve quality related problems.
Initiates corrective actions and preventative actions.
Performs occasional inspections of equipment, purchased parts, manufactured parts, and defective parts returned from a dealership.
Helps get dispositions for out-of-specification material completed which includes contacting the appropriate department such as Product Support, Design, Purchasing, etc.
Assists various departments for verification of new and existing products which may include supplier visits, dealership visits, etc.
Coordinates problem solving activities to identify and eliminate root causes of non-conformances.
Creates and conducts training about quality issues working with various departments as needed.
Researches, writes, and edits documents for the business such as change request documents (CRD's), reject tickets, procedures, work instructions, etc.
Organizes, maintains, and updates computer files of product-related documents.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Hard line to Quality Manager, dotted line to Supplier Quality Engineer group for day to day work direction:
PPAPs
TMD (deviations)
Supplier follow-up
Interactions with RTV (return to vendor) group, possible ownership at a later date
Other duties as defined by QMgr or SQE

What Will You Need?
High school or equivalent required and 4 plus years of related experience.
Exhibit advanced mechanical, electrical, and hydraulics skills and aptitude and perform at the highest level.
Must be skilled with product and processes for supported areas.
Knowledgeable of Quality standard concepts, practices, and procedures.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Able to utilize available resources to conduct technical research.
Excellent computer skills (SAP, data entry, MS Office including Excel and Word).
Demonstrate excellent writing skills, including research, organization, writing, formatting, and editing.
Have a good work record, including indications of strong self-motivation, high productivity, reliable attendance, attention to quality, ability to learn new skills, and a cordial, cooperative personality.
ASQ Quality Technician Certification is not required, but preferred and is considered desirable.
ASQ CSQP preferred.
Experience in working with external suppliers on processes such as corrective action, PPAP, return product and auditing required.
Work Environment:
Regular, continuous use of a computer.
Office environment some of the time, with regular trips to the shop (including Main Plant, Plant 3, and Product Development), and occasional work outdoors. The shop environment includes physical hazards such as powered vehicle, bicycle, and pedestrian traffic, sharp objects, and moving machinery. Outdoor work may include observing or operating equipment at test fields or construction sites, in all kinds of weather conditions.
Rapidly changing workloads, priorities, and deadlines.
Common work weeks of up to 50 hours.
Possibility of travel to suppliers, estimated not to exceed 25%.
