Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) to join our team on a PRN basis.
Position Overview:
We seek a PRN CNA to provide high-quality nursing care to our patients in Port Charlotte, FL. The ideal candidate will have a solid clinical background, excellent communication skills, and a passion for patient care. This role offers flexibility and the opportunity to work in various healthcare settings, including hospitals, clinics, and LTCs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Incumbent will assist with all aspects of resident care as assigned by the shift supervisor, including activities of daily living, ambulation, and mobility in facility
- Respond promptly and courteously when answering call lights
- Observe, identify, and report resident concerns or needs to the shift supervisor
- Complete assignments timely, completely, accurately and in a cooperative manner
- Follow established performance standards and perform duties according to nursing service and FDVA policies and procedures
- Provide the necessary assistance when giving residents the following activities of daily living nursing care: oral hygiene, bathing, dressing, and grooming, hair, and nail care, shaving, toileting, eating and drinking, and mobility
- Assist as needed with related functions to, for, and with residents to include activities such as escorting to meals, assisting with laundry, and assisting with participation in activities
- Perform restorative measures such as obtaining and recording vital signs/weights, and assistance with self-administration of medications. Document services provided within facility software/databases
- Work cooperatively and respectfully with residents, family or resident representatives, facility staff, physicians, ARNP’s, consultants and ancillary service providers
- Follow Residents Rights policies at all times
- Maintain confidentiality of resident information
- Transport and/or escort residents to appointments as assigned
- Assist with monitoring and accountability of residents to enable medical personnel to accomplish health related tasks
- Attend all in-service programs, training classes, and domiciliary meetings
- Responsible and accountable for information contained in the Employee Handbook
- Observe all facility safety, infection control and quality improvement, HIPPA policies and procedures, and internal quality improvement processes
Qualifications:
- Valid CNA license in the state of Florida
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical nursing experience, preferably in a similar role
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification is required. (Must be American Heart or Red Cross.)
- Negative TB/PPD- Chest Xray within 12 months
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel
