Smyth Automotive is a privately-held automotive aftermarket company, owned and operated by the Smyth family since it was founded by George Smyth over 50 years ago. Smyth Automotive has grown and now owns and operates 18 auto part retail locations, 8 paint centers and 5 warehouse distribution centers serving Greater Cincinnati, Dayton, Columbus, Northern and Central KY and Tennessee.
Smyth Automotive continues to grow and is looking for aMajor Account Manager that is energetic, detail orientated, and has superb customer service skills for our territory in Cincinnati, Ohio. The Account Manager is responsible to support the vendor account activities to include seeking out and developing new accounts, maintaining inventory levels, inputting sales data into the system and preparing purchase orders. Also responsible to act as a liaison between Smyth and the customer to ensure parts and supplies are delivered according to schedule and to research and respond to vendor inquiries in a timely and accurate manner.
Requirements:
- Develop new accounts and maintain existing business by prospecting, training, and consistently providing a high level of customer service to create a solid relationship between Smyth Automotive and the customer.
- Maintain on hand inventory levels based on actual use and or planned inventory levels and ensure accurate and timely input and upload of sales data/orders into the system for assigned vendor(s).
- Review inventory reports to identify excess inventory.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationship with customer and cross functional departments.
- Determine what shop supplies are needed or asked for by technicians.
- Check Specialty Products.
- Label and update supply area as needed.
- Check returns, inquire about store service and deliveries.
- Review promotional programs or corporate programs.
- Review each order with GM or SM for approval and purchase order number.
- Maintain stock and service for several locations on a weekly and biweekly rotation.
- Parts experience preferred.
- Optimize product flow from Smyth to customers to maximize service levels.
- Attention to detail and accurate record keeping capabilities a must.
- Maintain the highest level of customer service and continually improve the customer experience.
- Frequently loads and unloads parts to vendor supply area.
- Develop new accounts and maintain existing business by prospecting, training, and consistently providing a high level of customer service to create a solid relationship between Smyth Automotive and the customer.
