We're seeking a future team member for the role of Vice President, Data Management and Design to join our Capabilities & Data Design team. This role is located in Pittsburgh, PA in a Hybrid work environment.
About the team:
The Capabilities & Data Design (C&DD) Team sits within Risk & Compliance Strategy Planning. The team's focus is to centralize Compliance data by building out an innovative platform that provides BNY's leadership with actionable intelligence. C&DD's largest stakeholder is Financial Crimes Compliance who is responsible for the firm's Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Know Your Customer (KYC), and Sanctions Compliance Programs. The C&DD team is excited about the work we're doing and we're seeking a candidate who is looking for a purpose-driven role.
In this role, you'll make an impact in the following ways:
- Elicit and document requirements from Financial Crimes Compliance (FCC) stakeholders accountable for processes related to Bank Secrecy Act / Anti-Money Laundering (BSA/AML) regulations e.g., Know Your Client (KYC), Transaction Monitoring, Investigations, and Sanctions
- Lead FCC data modelling and quantitative analysis projects including investigating and assessing customer, transaction, and compliance data to develop KPIs and models
- Document the data transformation process including data workflow diagrams and entity relationship diagrams
- Partner with the Engineering organization to communicate requirements and test Engineering-produced solutions
- Establish partnerships with application owners, technology, and the business to obtain data and understand data limitations (i.e., scope of data, attribute definitions, linkages to other datasets)
- Perform root cause analysis on data quality errors and propose remediation efforts
To be successful in this role, we're seeking the following:
- Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Degrees in quantitative fields such as math, engineering, statistics, computational finance, or economics are preferred
- 7+ years of total, relevant work experience
- Advanced data querying and profiling abilities (SQL is a must) within the financial services industry
- Occasional ability to work evenings and excellent verbal and written communications skills are required

BNY assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. Base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNYM total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.
This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
