About the Opportunity:
The National Marketing Director role at Ballyhoo Media offers an opportunity to be at the forefront of revolutionizing out-of-home advertising. This position provides the unique challenge and excitement of pioneering new formats of waterway media, rebranding iconic and beloved transit programs, and introducing new experiential mediums to the marketplace.
As the strategic architect behind our marketing initiatives, you will lead a team of marketing professionals to drive brand awareness, Go-To-Market strategies, B2B customer acquisition, and revenue growth. Your goal is to own the strategy and execution of these programs to better communicate our products and services to brands and agencies.
Reporting into the Chief Revenue Officer, this role will be a key partner to senior leadership, working directly with the sales, finance, and business development departments to launch and grow our products and services.

To accomplish these goals quickly, the candidate should have experience in either an OOH or full-service media agency and be highly skilled in B2B vertical-based marketing strategies and revenue-generating marketing support.

Key Responsibilities & Deliverables:
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement comprehensive marketing strategies that align with Ballyhoo Media’s overall business objectives. Strategize and guide overall growth marketing and media strategies to acquire new customers, retain existing customers, and build long-term brand value. Establish KPIs and metrics to measure effectiveness and drive continuous improvement.
- Market Research and Analysis: Direct market research efforts to identify trends, buyer behaviors, and competitive landscape to inform marketing strategies. Analyze the health and value of current materials, driving the team toward being more data-driven, analytical, and ROI-focused. Assist in developing auditing and post-analytic reporting to show better ROI to clients and drive case studies to enhance our pitch to advertisers.
- Campaign and Content Strategy: Plan and execute integrated marketing campaigns across digital, print, and other media channels to drive customer engagement and sales. Guide the creation of customized decks and presentations for specific clients and target events/audiences, providing strategic direction and ensuring the team’s output meets high standards.
- Annual Plans & Budgets: Develop annual marketing plans, and with the help of the CRO, project sales targets and required resources. Craft and monitor marketing budgets, ensuring ROI and effective resource allocation.
- Go-To-Marketing Strategies and Growth: Develop go-to-market strategies for new assets, conduct local research and insights, generate local awareness, and equip the sales team with the necessary tools and programs to succeed. Strategize marketing goals, strategies, and tactics with the Chief Revenue Officer, delegate activities to the marketing team and monitor execution for thoroughness and accuracy.
- Innovation and Technology: Foster a culture of innovation, encouraging the team to explore new marketing channels, tools, and technologies. Implement CRM and marketing automation tools to streamline marketing operations and improve efficiency. Grow our team's adoption of HubSpot marketing tools and drive reports and analytics to the leadership team.
- Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Monitor and report on the effectiveness of marketing campaigns, providing insights and recommendations for improvements. Present strategic initiatives and measurable results at quarterly business reviews.
- Brand Management: Oversee the development and execution of brand strategies to enhance Ballyhoo Media’s market presence and reputation. Maintain or rebrand our current media & transit offerings to reflect the wants and needs of modern OOH buying audiences.
- Team Management: Lead, mentor, and manage a high-performing marketing team, fostering a culture of creativity and accountability. Oversee marketing staff recruitment, training, and professional development to build a strong and dynamic team. Grow the marketing team based on current business needs and future growth objectives, ensuring the team is well-equipped to meet the business's demands.
Skills Needed:
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, Advertising, or a related field. An MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
- Minimum of 8 years of well-rounded B2B marketing, agency, or media experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership or manager-level role managing multiple direct reports.
- Ideally 5+ years’ experience within either an OOH or full-service media agency.
- Skilled in creating, executing, and measuring vertical-specific B2B marketing strategies and execution.
- Knowledge of media agency operations, advertising technology, and data ecosystems.
- Ability to simplify complex topics for cross-functional and senior leadership audiences.
- Strong prioritization and resource/budget allocation skills.
- Excellent collaboration, project management, and market research skills.
- Experience directing collateral presentations and working with creative teams..
- Proficient in HubSpot or similar marketing tools for process and analytics.
- Capable of managing multiple high-level projects simultaneously, ensuring each meets "Ballyhoo Standards" while providing leadership to the marketing team.
