OVERVIEW
The Assistant Manager of Product Marketing is an integral part of the Marketing Team at Summer Fridays. This individual will support the development and execution of product marketing strategies to maintain competitiveness within the prestige beauty industry. This role is suited for someone with a foundational understanding of product marketing dynamics and a strong passion for beauty products and storytelling. The ideal candidate will assist in managing product lifecycles, contribute to new product ideas, and collaborate across teams to enhance market presence.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in the development and execution of product marketing strategies that complement the brand's vision and goals.
- Support the product marketing process from concept to market launch, facilitating smooth interactions across Product Development, Creative, Sales, Ops, and Marketing teams.
- Support ongoing evolution of the Innovation Roadmap, considering sales targets, product mix, and market trends.
- Lead maintenance of the Product Catalog to support Retail and Marketing needs.
- Initiate and analyze market research to capture consumer trends and competitive dynamics, applying findings to product strategies.
- Aid in analyzing the performance of the product assortment, contributing to gap analysis and product evolution discussions.
- Work closely with the Product Development, Brand Marketing and Creative teams to help define effective product positioning, messaging, and packaging.
- Oversee consistency in product messaging across all channels, ensuring alignment with overall product marketing strategies.
- Conduct detailed competitive analysis to understand market trends and identify opportunities within the prestige beauty sector.
- Assist with forecasting for new product introductions and manage smaller scale projects within the product marketing framework.
- Engage in pricing analysis under guidance and provide support in product pricing strategy.
- Stay updated on industry trends and competitor activities to inform the product marketing strategy.
- Support the product marketing team and undertake additional tasks as required.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communication, Beauty Marketing, Product Development, or related field.
- Minimum 3 years experience in product marketing. Beauty industry experience preferred.
- Experience with industry tools such as DAASH and Spate preferred.
- Knowledge of industry trends, product lifecycle, and consumer behavior.
- Creative and analytical thinker with an ability to work on multiple projects in a dynamic environment.
- Strong organizational and project management skills; familiarity with project management systems preferred (Monday.com).
- Effective communication and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with Apple Programs (Word, Excel, Keynote, PowerPoint).
- Hybrid position is based in Los Angeles, CA with 2 days per week required in office.
