Position: Full time Physical Therapist (30hrs to start and up to 35 hours/week)

The Meyer Center provides comprehensive therapeutic and educational services for children birth through 2nd grade. We have a multi-disciplinary therapy department to include occupational, physical, speech and music therapy. We have a team of experienced physical therapists who are passionate about supporting the children and families we serve. We provide current, research-supported PT services to children with a wide variety of abilities using a child-centered, play-based approach.

Summary:
The physical therapy assistant provides services under the supervision and direction of a licensed physical therapist for special needs students. These services provide essential support to the Individual Education Programs as determined by the IEP team. PTAs implement interventions/treatment, and make modifications in selected interventions either to progress the student as directed by the physical therapist or to ensure student safety and comfort.
Responsibilities:
Under the supervision of a physical therapist, implement appropriate physical therapy services to support the goals and objectives of a student's IEP
Identify environmental needs/barriers and make recommendations for accommodations/physical modifications under the supervision of a physical therapist
Monitor, document and report the progress of students from therapy sessions
Communicate with parents regarding progress or anything pertaining to the session performed by the PTA
Maintain optimal billing hours within the guidelines of productivity standards
Attend staff meetings and other school meetings as required
Participate in staff professional development/inservice activities
Consistently demonstrate sound judgment in the implementation, planning, and follow-up of student therapy programs
Perform other relevant duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor
Qualifications:
Must be a graduate of American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) accredited school
Valid state Physical Therapy Assistant license required
CPR certification
Excellent work ethic and dedication to student success
Experience working with students with disabilities, pediatric setting, or in an educational setting with professional communication and collaboration preferred
Ability to work independently and easily adapt to changes with daily schedule based on student's/school's needs.
