GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB Quad is currently seeking a Data Scientist at our Headquarters in Sussex, WI. The applicant should have expertise in both predictive and prescriptive analytics. In this role you will be a member of our data science team working closely with business partners and teammates. This role solves the most complex analytical opportunities by developing models answering both "what will happen" (predictive) and "what should we do" (prescriptive optimization) across process and product offering at Quad.
You will contribute to all aspects of the SLDC from project scope, requirements, design, testing, deployment, and support. The ideal candidate will have a deep passion for data driven analytics, team building, collaboration and proven experience providing analytical insights to strategic decision makers at Quad.

Responsibilities: Project Management - Partner with project stakeholders, cross functional IT teams and your Data Science team to determine project scope, requirements, functional and technical design and expected results.
- Work closely with Data Science Team to plan and execute deliverables according to the principals of Agile Software Development.
Algorithm & Software Development Process - Design and implement models and algorithms in the predictive and prescriptive disciplines of data science to support strategic business decisions and automated integration with business processes/system.
- Continuously monitor and improve existing models as business direction as corresponding data sets evolve.
- Write automated data collection routines: processing, transforming, and storing data in support of machine learning projects.
- Develop and automate continuous training models and required reporting.
- Security considerations are included within scope of all software solution design.
Data Analysis & Insight - Analyze large data sets to determine patterns and support decision making within project design to produce actionable scope.
- Effectively present complex data concepts and recommended insights to non-technical stakeholder.
- Collaborate with business areas and IT Development Teams to integrate data science into business processes and viable solutions.
Operational Support - Provide timely and accurate production support responsibilities within defined SLAs to business partners.
- Proactively engage with fellow team members, the I.T. Department and Business Stakeholders to monitor and strengthen the data science platform.
Required Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in data science, Math, Statistics, or related with an analytical concentration.
- 3-5 years experience in Data Science application development and application of principals to successful business solutions.
- Experience of neural network libraries such as Jax, PyTorch, etc.
- Working knowledge of big data technologies (Databricks, Spark)
- Experience with software tools such as: Python, Pandas, NumPy.
- Demonstrated understanding and application of linear and logistic regression, probability theory or SVM, and related properties of distributions and statistical tests.
- Demonstrated understanding and application of optimization algorithms across Gradient-Based, Second-Order and Evolutionary & Direct Search.
- Strong problem-solving and object-oriented development skills
- Excellent communication and technical writing skills.
- Desire and ambition jointly build and strengthen data science solutions as part of a collaborative and respectful team environment.
- Unrestricted Work Authorization in the US.
Preferred Qualifications - Experience SQL and database management platforms.
- Experience developing and deploying software in Kubernetes.
- Experience in Azure DevOps Services and pipeline management.
- Experience in Azure Cloud Services or other cloud platforms.
