Valley Ear, Nose and Throat is the oldest ENT practice in the Rio Grande Valley and offers the most up-to-date comprehensive ENT care available in South Texas. We are seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate is an experienced and well-rounded diagnostician who will counsel, educate, and motivate patients and their loved ones.
Under the supervision of an attending physician, your responsibilities include:
- Taking patient histories.
- Performing physical exams (microscopic exams, endoscopic exams and more).
- Reviewing and revising treatment and therapy plans.
- Administering medications, ordering and collecting specimens.
- Initiating arrangements for hospital admissions.
- Other duties as assigned by the physician, while ensuring compliance with all legal, regulatory, and clinical policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- Must be board certified from the National Commission of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) at the time of hire and maintain certification throughout employment -or- current RN license and Nurse Practitioner licensure with current certification from the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP), or the American Nursing Credentialing Center (ANCC).
- Certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required.
- A physician assistant must be registered with the United States Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) for scheduled II-V Controlled Substances if prescribing controlled substances.
- Must have current state of Texas license.
- Otolaryngology experience is preferred but not required. On the job training will be provided.
