The Certified Nurse Midwife is to provide full scope perinatal care and management of low risk clients in CNM led, hospital owned, freestanding Birth Center with 24/7 collaboration and support of FP OB physicians, provide prenatal /post-partum/well woman care for higher risk clientele in Rural Health Center, function as part of an MD/CNM/RN team for OB ED triage, stabilization and transfer in the hospital, assist with training/education/clinical skills for the OB ED and Birth Center services, collaborate with local Public Health Department, Home Birth CPM and Doulas, opportunity for ongoing monthly or quarterly shifts in a partnering Labor and Delivery unit, 24/7 access to UC Davis NICU providers through PEANUT (Pediatric Emergency Assistance to Newborns Using Telehealth), great working relationship with consulting OB/Gyns in Truckee, CA and Perinatologists from Sacramento, CA and Reno, NV, and active Sweet Success Diabetes program assists in the prevention of diabetic complications and neonatal transfers due to hypoglycemia. Qualifications -Required Education: Masters prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing or public health (MSN, MPH) required.-Required Experience: At least 1 year of nursing experience in a high volume Labor and Delivery unit, At least 5 years of experience as a Certified Nurse Midwife.-Required Certifications and Licenses: CNM Certification by the American Midwifery Certification Board, Active California RN/CNM license, DEA certification, ACLS and NRP current or will be obtained within 3 months of hire, STABLE certification current or will be obtained within 6 months of hire, and ALSO certification current or obtained within 6 months of hire.-Other Requirements: Commitment to Rural Health initiatives to prevent Maternity Deserts and Commitment to evidenced based midwifery practice.
