Taussig Cancer Institute is a 36-bed Hematology/Oncology unit, known as G70, on Cleveland Clinic's Main Campus. This highly acute unit cares for patients who have a cancer diagnosis involving solid tumors and/or metastatic disease.
As a Registered Nurse on the Taussig Cancer Institute G70 Unit, you will:
- Be specially trained to assist with giving patients chemotherapy.
- Provide support to adult patients on the unit.
- Focus on the treatment of many varied malignancies and hematologic diseases from new diagnosis to end of life.
- Provide care alongside a multi-disciplinary team of caregivers.
- Integrate the best treatment modalities to a complex oncologic population from admission to discharge.

In this unit, you will learn, grow and develop:
- Caregivers develop transferrable skills with exposure to variety of patient diagnoses.
- Complete ONS Chemo/Bio course within 6 months - understanding chemo reactions and becoming an expert in this area.
- Work alongside physicians who are leaders in their specialty and experts in care.

- Leaders are eager to jump in when needed and bring positivity and cohesion with morning huddles.

Responsibilities:
- Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.
- Implements and monitors patient care plans. Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
- Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
- Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders.
- Assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
- Maintains professional growth and development through ongoing formal and informal education and clinical nursing study.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education:
- Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing.
- BSN preferred.

- Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.

- Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.
- Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
