A PLAINTIFF PERSONAL INJURY FIRM IS LOOKING TO HIRE A TOP-NOTCH NURSE PARALEGAL FOR THEIR FIRM.
A boutique firm located in Boca Raton, Florida, has an opening for a full-time medical malpractice plaintiff nurse paralegal to work on-site in the office.
Qualifications:
·Florida Registered Paralegal (FRP)
·Must have completed an ABA-approved paralegal certification program such as an associate’s degree or proprietary school program in paralegal studies, bachelor’s degree desired
·Certification from the National Federation of Paralegal Associations (NFPA) or National Association of Legal Assistants (NALA)
·Registered Nurse (RN)
·Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
·Excellent organizational skills and time-management skills
·Proficient with computers, software, and programs including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.), Adobe, Dropbox, etc.
·Experience with Filevine case management software preferred. Will train.
Responsibilities
·Screen and conduct intake of new potential medical malpractice cases
·Order, review, organize, and summarize medical records; prepare chronologies and timelines; analyze case merit and identify the standard of care, causation, and damage issues
·Research, identify, interview, and communicate with expert witnesses
·Conduct medical and legal research
·Draft letters and e-mails
·Draft pre-suit documents, including
-Notice of Intent, Expert Affidavits, Informal Discovery, Responses to Informal Discovery,
·Draft litigation documents, including pleadings, discovery, discovery responses, subpoenas, deposition notices, orders, exhibit lists, expert and witness lists, etc., under the supervision of a lawyer
·Assist lawyers with preparation for depositions, mediation, and trial
