Overview:
The Licensed Clinician functions as the clinical expert in assessment, planning and delivery of clinical treatment services to the clients in the Detox unit. The Licensed Clinician will be responsible for all clinical aspects of care, including risk assessment, treatment planning, individual and group therapy, as well as psycho-educational and family services. The Licensed Clinician will provide services in conjunction with other members of the multi-disciplinary treatment team.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide individual, family and group therapy and psycho-educational groups.
- Provide crisis intervention services to clients as needed, including risk assessment services in accordance with Stonington Institute policy.
- Coordinate and contribute to diagnostic, case reviews, and treatment team meetings.
- Properly complete documentation required to evidence treatment, including: Assessment, Master Treatment Plan, Treatment Plan Updates, Progress Notes, and Discharge Plans.
- Plan and implement treatment programs individually designed for each client's needs and bio-psycho-social history. Determine the best possible discharge plan for clients in conjunction with intake, assessment and aftercare needs.
- Maintain regular contact with, attend, and contribute to decision-making conference(s) involving outside agencies (DMHAS, courts, community resources, and alternative placements).
- Insure the legal rights of clients are protected.
- Attend and contribute to in-service training sessions as requested.
- Provide communication and feedback to other team members as part of joint treatment planning, UR, and patient management.
- Complete all documentation required by regulatory and accreditation agencies.
- Comply with professional and Institute ethical standards.
- Maintain confidentiality of clients at all times.
- Maintain professional level of development and expertise by the use of continuing education.
Qualifications
Independent license required (LMFT, LCSW, LPC, LADC, licensed psychologist,). Two years mental health counseling experience with substance abuse population preferred.
