The Novelis Berea, KY team is seeking an Occupational Health Nurse. The person in this role will report to the EHS Leader. The plant nurse is responsible for the overall execution of facility health and safety initiatives and programs including return to work, case management, healthcare education/wellness, implementation of corporate ergonomic strategies, and coordination of workers compensation process. The plant nurse maintains records for all health-related governmental and/or documentation requirements. This person will perform their functions with the utmost respect for patient confidentiality and will work closely with local operations and human resources functions as well as corporate functions supporting health and safety.
Responsibilities:
- Render medical care for all employees.
- Document injuries/illnesses on appropriate OSHA forms and maintain OSHA/Workers Comp records.
- Keep appropriate management personnel apprised of injuries/illnesses and work restrictions.
- Maintain secure, confidential records in medical department.
- Coordinate and participate in health and safety initiatives and events for the plant.
- Provide fitness and nutrition awareness.
- Develop and provide training for CPR, AED, First Aid, Blood Borne Pathogens and Hearing Conservation.
- Serve as key resource on medical/health related issues for employees including administration of leave of absences (STD, LTD, FMLA).
- Ensure Occupational Health Management Program is current and provide “standard process” management of all occupational injuries/illnesses.
- Manage medical clinic, medical equipment, and ensure plant first aid kits are supplied and maintained.
- Work with external provider/vendors for instances of specific medical follow up.
- Coordinate all aspects of Novelis Hearing Conservation Program (annual testing and results evaluation, training and instruction, auditing and compliance).
- Ensure Blood Borne Pathogens Program follows all applicable regulations.
- Provide guidance to all employees on programs and serve as lead representative for audits on these programs.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Effective organizational skills and ability to work with various levels of the organization.

- Firm commitment to confidentiality, integrity, and credibility.
- Proficient in computer software – Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and other appropriate software.
- Extensive knowledge and skill in nursing with ability to implement wellness programs/activities
- Ability to respond to trouble calls 24-hours a day.
- Nursing Licensure
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum of two years of Occupational Nursing and working knowledge of OSHA recordkeeping.
- Registered Nurse (RN)
