Job Description
We are excited to announce a fantastic part-time, long-term opportunity for a Special Education Behavior Technician starting in mid-August for the 2024/2025 school year! This position is ideal for those passionate about working with special education students in the Temecula Valley region.
Role Overview
As a Behavior Technician, you will support classroom teachers by working with special education students, primarily those with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), in self-contained classrooms. This role is mainly with elementary-age students, however some placements may also include middle & high school-age students. You willl play a crucial part in enhancing their academic and behavioral experiences.
Competitive hourly rate of $22-$25, paid weekly (Potential to earn more per hour based on experience)
Consistent Monday to Friday schedule
No weekend work required
Typical hours - 8am to 2:30/3pm, with a shorter day on Wednesday, for a total of around 28 hours per week

Key Responsibilities
In this role, you'll support students with autism and other moderate to severe disabilities. Common behaviors include aggression, self-injurious actions, noncompliance, elopement, repetitive behaviors, and sensory sensitivities. Support strategies involve implementing Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs), Positive Behavior Support (PBS), visual aids, communication supports, structured environments, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
Required Qualifications/Experience
High School Diploma
Minimum of 2 years of specific experience in special education with children
Experience handling severe behaviors, such as physical aggression and elopement
Knowledge of behavioral intervention strategies and techniques
Familiarity with supporting individuals with hygiene and healthcare-related services
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to stay calm and patient in challenging situations
English proficiency
Nice to Have
Bachelor’s Degree
CPI and/or ABA experience
Certification in CPR and First Aid
