The Commercial Estimator will be responsible for all aspects of estimation to compile accurate estimates for potential commercial projects. The Estimator prepares accurate estimates for projects by gathering information and analyzing important metrics. The ideal candidate will have an in-depth knowledge of a wide variety of HVAC equipment, materials, and methods of installation and strong organizational skills. The Estimator must be able to establish and maintain relationships with customers, vendors, and other key persons. The goal is to provide detailed reports so the company can make informed decisions that will enhance its profitability and growth.
Responsibilities
Understand the project/program and its requirements
Accurately estimate, plan, and design HVAC systems using computer estimating systems and other related software
Effectively interact with the sales and project management teams to ensure all projects are performed under budget and on time, according to plans and specifications
Determine key variables for cost and other estimates
Gather first-hand information from sites, warehouses or other venues
Conduct research to obtain data on labor costs, materials, production times etc.
Obtain and review offers and quotes by subcontractors or vendors
Perform risk analysis
Create and submit estimate reports or bids to appropriate persons
Provide consultation on planning (schedules, manpower needs etc.)
Skills
5 or more years experience in the HVAC industry with a proven track record is required
Ability to read and comprehend blueprints and other construction documents
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Experience with estimating systems preferred
Thorough understanding of related trades for the purposes of coordinating various project estimates
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
Deadline and detail-oriented
Proficient in relevant software
Outstanding communication and negotiation abilities
Trained to use extension ladders & no height restrictions
Able to access rooftops
Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) will be an asset

Pay: $80,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
