Job Description:
Arsenal Family & Children's Center is seeking 2 experienced Toddler Teachers to work with 2-3 year old children in a small classroom environment for the 24-25 school year. Our Toddler program is a half-day program that runs during the school year from September to May from 8:45am - 11:45 am Monday - Thursday. The part-time position would require the employee to work approximately 8:00 am to 1:30 pm Monday - Thursday. The full time position is 8:00 - 3:30 M-F with additional work in other areas of the school. These positions will begin in Late August 2024.
Arsenal Family & Children's Center is a non-profit center accredited by NAEYC and a Keystone Star 4 facility. Arsenal's mission is to promote and be an advocate for the healthy development of young children.
Essential Functions:
1. To implement a developmental play curriculum.
2. Maintain a safe and appropriate environment that supports play.
3. Guarantee the health and safety of each child by assuring continuous supervision and maintaining a safe and clean indoor and outdoor environment.
4. Work closely with collaborating teacher for daily and long-range planning about the children's development and classroom.
5. Communicate with parents through daily, informal conversation.
6. Ensure appropriate individual programming through daily observations and notes.
7. Follow all policies and procedures stated in the Staff Handbook.
8. Maintain knowledge of and implement the guidelines and standards set by NAEYC and Keystone Stars.
9.Continue Professional Development.
Requirements:
Minimum CDA or Associates Degree in Child Development/Early Childhood Education. Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood preferred.
Minimum 2 years experience in Early Childhood setting.
Must have clearances (FBI/Child Abuse/ Criminal Background/NSOR), current physical and TB test.
