Candidates should be eligible for the rank of Associate or Full Professor of Clinical Medicine (NTT). The director is responsible for building a nationally ranked Division of Hematology and Medical Oncology with basic and clinical research. The candidate should be board certified in Medical Oncology and/or Hematology and recognized for accomplishments in research, patient care, leadership, and education. Research space in the Center for Precision Medicine and a significant start-up package will be committed to the qualified candidate. The director of the Division of Hematology and Medical Oncology will also play a leadership role at Ellis Fischel Cancer Center.In addition, the division also invites applications for clinical faculty oncologists with an interest in GU, GI, solid tumors, especially melanoma/sarcoma, neuro-oncology, and Phase I clinical trials. The ideal candidate will be expected to provide clinical care, participate in clinical trials, and be involved in the teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows.About Us:The Division of Hematology/Oncology is an academic division in the Department of Medicine, with faculty and fellows engaged in clinical care, education and research. Patient care is embedded within the historic Ellis Fischel Cancer Center, with multi-disciplinary teams providing comprehensive medical, surgical, and radiation therapies. Education spans all levels of medical training, with undergraduate medical students from the University of Missouri School of Medicine, an Internal Medicine residency program with 64 categorical residents, and 9 fellows in the three-year Hematology/Oncology program. Hematology/Oncology faculty engage in clinical research through the Ellis Fischel Cancer Center Clinical Trials Office and collaborate in basic and translational research with faculty in other divisions, departments, and schools.Our vision for the Division of Hematology/Oncology starts with excellent care for patients in our community, expanding care for patients across our region through subspecialty expertise, and access to a broad spectrum of clinical trials for first-line and subsequent therapies.
