Role Overview: The Media Director will be responsible for overseeing all media planning, buying, and execution activities. This role requires a deep understanding of the media landscape, exceptional leadership skills, and the ability to drive strategic initiatives that meet client objectives.
Media Director Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement comprehensive media strategies that align with client business goals and objectives.
- Lead the media team in planning, buying, and optimizing media campaigns across all channels, including digital, broadcast, print, and social media.
- Foster strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs, and providing strategic media recommendations.
- Oversee the analysis of media performance data, drawing insights to inform and refine campaign strategies.
- Negotiate and secure media placements, ensuring cost-efficiency and maximum impact for clients.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive landscape to keep the agency at the forefront of media innovation.
- Collaborate with creative, account, and analytics teams to ensure integrated and effective campaign execution.
- Mentor and develop the media team, promoting a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
- Manage the media department budget, ensuring optimal allocation of resources.
Media Director Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, or a related field.
- Startup experience out of an agency is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in media planning and buying, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Proven success in developing and executing multi-channel media strategies.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
- Leadership qualities with a track record of building and managing high-performing teams.
- Proficiency in media planning and buying software, as well as analytics tools.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
