Full Job Description:
We are looking for a seasonal, part- or full-time truck driver and feed miller. The position is at a small feed mill with one other employee and involves milling and delivering feed to turkey barns. We will train employees in all necessary tasks, but proficiency driving a semi is required (a CDL is not required, but preferred). Required tasks include (but are not limited to) using a computer to run the mill, lifting and loading 50 lbs ingredient bags, unloading bulk ingredients, driving a forklift to move pallets, maintaining digital and written mill records, driving a semi and feed trailer to and from barns, and unloading feed into feed bins. A CDL would be a plus but isn't required. Proficiency as a driver IS required. Computer experience is a plus.
Responsibilities:
Operate farm equipment as needed.
Ensure equipment cabs are as clean and neat as possible.
Maintain a safe working environment.
Assure your area of responsibility complies with all company policies, procedures, and programs.
Experience Needed / Suggested:
Must possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record.
Able to travel to company locations as needed.
Must be able to: walk, stand, and sit for long periods of time, lift 50 pounds.
Excellent verbal communication skills.
Ability to function independently.
Handle multiple priorities and meet critical deadlines. Must possess basic time management skills.
Preferred Qualifications: previous animal husbandry experience and/or a farm background, be CDL certified.
