Job Summary:
We're in search of a Registered Nurse work on a full time basis at our Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic, part of our Behavioral Health & Recovery Services Division. The Nurse is accountable to the Program Director, who is responsible for providing supervision and training. The Nurse is one who actively promotes the philosophy of the Gándara Center, and maintains a high level of commitment to the program.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Vital measurements: respirations, heart rate, temperature (P.O., tympanic, and axillary routes), pain assessment: lung sounds, heart sounds, neurological, gastrointestinal, signs of abuse/neglect, injuries, seizure precautions and crisis management.
- Nurse will collaborate with the individuals and their families, educating them and recognizing the unique needs of the dually diagnosed and other special populations to obtain positive therapeutic outcomes
- Evaluate the individuals’ responses to the care plan and track their progress towards ideal outcomes
- Monitor medication as prescribed by the prescriber and in compliance with applicable regulations
- May be required to obtain laboratory specimens (including phlebotomy), and complete other assigned tasks within the scope of practice as directed
- Counseling; assumes counseling responsibilities in health-related areas, including but not limited to: prenatal care, child and nutritional care, body mass index and general hygiene
- Create and provided educational groups based on wellness: nutrition, diabetes education, pain relief education, and healthy exercise habits
- To engage with other Ga̒ndara program to promote and provide service on site
- BMI follow up and education
- Participate in weekly mutli-disciplinary team meetings
- To travel, as needed
