Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking an Aerospace Vehicle Equipment (AVE) Systems Engineer / Principal Systems Engineer - Requirements and Verification. This position is located in Roy, UT and supports the Sentinel program. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.
What You'll Get To Do
The selected engineer will be responsible for multiple tasks within requirements and verification for the AVE Segment. The engineer will be responsible for performing tasks dealing with requirement decomposition, compliance tracking, verification planning and verification execution.
Specific duties to include, but are not limited to the following:
- Requirement development, decomposition, and refinement based on knowledge of the functional architecture and performance budgets
- Ensure architecture is consistent with requirements decomposition
- Verification planning for the AVE segment requirements. Verification planning will transition into verification execution which includes development and review of verification artifacts, requirement verification report generation, and management of the approval process
- Support to environmental requirement development and test strategy
- Support to incremental CDR execution eventually culminating in an AVE CDR (includes execution of CDR, RvC development, readiness assessment)
- Support to flight design review (FDR)
- Support element system engineers in the development of element level requirements, verification plans, and CDR/IDR execution
- Work in a collaborative environment, across all system functions. Work with teammates across a wide variety of disciplines and get intimately familiar with all aspects of the Missile

This position's standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Basic Qualifications:
This requisition may be filled at either the Engineer Systems level or Principal Engineer Systems level.
Engineer Systems: Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 2 years of experience with Bachelor's degree, 0 years of experience with Master's degree and 1 year of Systems Engineering experience
Principal Engineer Systems: Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 5 years of experience with Bachelor's degree, 3 years of experience with Master's degree, 0 years of experience with PhD and 1 year of Systems Engineering experience
Required for Both Levels:
- Must be a US citizen with the ability to obtain DoD Secret clearance
- Must be able to be successfully screened for Enhanced Security Clearances, within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs
- Regardless of degree level, 1 year of engineering experience required
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
- Experience modeling with Cameo Enterprise Architecture or MagicDraw (No Magic, Inc.) or other architecture modeling tools
- Systems engineering experience
- Experience with DoDAF and UPDM or UAF Profiles
- 2+ years of experience using DOORS (IBM Rational)
- Experience with complex system development on large programs
- Experience with flight hardware
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written
Salary Range: $75,300 - $112,900
Salary Range 2: $92,600 - $139,000
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
