5th Grade English Language Arts and Social Studies Teacher

Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate teacher to join the academy's team as a full-time 5th Grade Teacher. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in elementary education or an interest in becoming an educator. Including a passion for teaching young children, and a desire to contribute to the success of our school.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement lesson plans that meet the needs of all students
Create a positive and safe classroom environment that fosters learning and growth
Assess and evaluate student progress on a regular basis using a variety of methods
Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and behavior
Collaborate with colleagues to plan and implement school-wide events and initiatives including intervention staff, English Learners staff, and SPED team.
Attend and participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge
Maintain accurate records and documentation of student progress and behavior
Perform other duties as assigned by the administration
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Education from an accredited college or university or
Hold a bachelor's degree with the desire to obtain a teacher certification via an alternative teaching program. (paid for by the academy)
Applicant must be Highly Qualified and Endorsed for this position with a Valid Michigan
Teaching Certificate (K-5 all subjects (ZC, ZG or ZO)
Prior experience teaching 1st grade or elementary education preferred
Strong knowledge of elementary education curriculum and instructional strategies
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and students
Strong organizational and time management skills
Ability to maintain a positive and safe classroom environment for all students.
