Licensed Practical Nurse
As required by our governmental client, this position requires being a US Citizen.
Licensed Practical Nurse will be responsible for recognizing signs and symptoms of potential life/limb threatening conditions and initiate appropriate emergency procedures to include notification of physician.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Estimated Starting Salary Range for Licensed Practical Nurse: Pay commensurate with experience.

Licensed Practical Nurse Responsibilities Include:
- Obtain information from patients or families to identify major complaints, symptoms, or reasons for seeking healthcare.
- Take vital signs including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respirations, oxygen saturation, pain level, height, weight, and measurements of head circumference and length; perform behavioral health screenings.
- Document the patient’s chief complaint and other pertinent information in the electronic health record, including medication reconciliation, screening tools, and behavioral health intake surveys.
- Facilitate care coordination by communicating relevant information according to the medical plan of care and nursing assessment, and documenting accordingly in the health record.
- Provide nursing care based on the physician’s medical care plan and the patient's physical, mental, and emotional needs. Assist with examinations and diagnostic procedures, administer medications, and perform various treatments.
- Perform routine procedures such as EKGs, eye, throat, nasal, or wound cultures, dressing changes, ear irrigation, and application of bandages. Recognize adverse signs and symptoms and perform CPR if necessary.
- Screen and review immunization records, administer immunizations according to established protocols, and document administration in the electronic health record or manually.
- Educate patients and families on self-care procedures, normal versus adverse reactions to immunizations, and special needs such as medication administration, inhaler and spacer use, and early warning signs of diseases.
- Input and retrieve data from computerized systems, maintain medical records, ensure coding compliance, and participate in performance improvement activities.
- Review expiration dates for medications, vaccines, and supplies; reorder as needed; assist with checking patients into the system; and complete records and other clerical duties in the absence of the medical receptionist.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Licensed Practical Nurse Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:
- Must possess and maintain current, unrestricted license in at least one state or territory in the United States and have minimum of two years of successful clinical practice within the past five years.
- Assist in quality improvement data collection and review.
- Help with problem solving regarding quality improvement issues.
- Participate in performance improvement processes action teams as needed.
- Uphold established patient care and practice standards.
- Participate in ongoing review of clinic policies and procedures and make appropriate revisions as required.
- Review and submit reports as required.
- May be assigned to other clinics in the MACH footprint on a temporary basis as needed or for
- additional on the job training.
- Participate in all mandatory training.
- Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal.
