About the Role & TeamThe Environmental Sustainability Line of Business sets the strategy and leads the planning and development of environmental projects to achieve the Walt Disney Company’s 2030 environmental goals, which include emissions, water & oceans, waste, materials, and sustainable design.
As the Content and Disclosure Manager, you will be responsible for the disclosure review process across the DX segment, including gathering, validating and socializing environmental regulatory data in support of the compliance process. You will be a key partner to Corporate Sustainability and Global Public Policy to shape commitments and develop our company’s environmental narrative and disclosure related submissions.
This role will report to the Environmental Sustainability Director.
What You Will Do- Serve as a trusted environmental communication advisor to site teams and senior leaders on environmental trends and provide awareness of the issues that define the current environmental regulatory conversation, enabling collaboration across the Disney Experiences segment
- Responsible for developing and clearing stories for public disclosure and serve as a central hub for environmental compliance documents
- Craft compelling executive and corporate communications content, translating our environmental mission, vision, and values, driving the company’s environmental position and brand
- Synthesize complex content into environmental briefing materials for leader speaking engagements
- Apply specialized environmental and business expertise to develop and clear content for enterprise-level public disclosures, CSR/ S&SI annual reporting, CDP disclosures and additional regulatory filings, ensuring it meets appropriate environmental frameworks, fact validation, and includes documentation of evidence and data
- Collaborate with partners to drive engaging internal and external communications strategies
- Collaborate with reporting teams developing content, ensuring messaging integration, and measuring impact
- Lead the integration and strategic positioning of company-wide environmentally focused activations related to Earth Month, Heritage Month celebrations and other related activities
- Orchestrate cohesive messaging, themes, and strategies across sites, ensuring and conservation priorities are accurately represented and crafting messaging, iconography, and actionable program packages for the sites
- Lead environmental sustainability awards and recognition programs across the segment
Required Qualifications & Skills- Writing and communications experience including corporate disclosures and regulatory filings
- Strong corporate policy, disclosure, or media experience
- Strong partnering, networking, and communication skills with an ability to build trust-based collaborative global multi-level partnerships
- Experience framing up complex issues while engaging with all levels throughout the organization
- Proven large scale project management skills to develop clear scope, schedule, budget, and roadmaps
- Facilitation skills
- Able to work occasional irregular hours to accommodate international time zones
- Proficiency with Microsoft Suite, Mac, Windows, collaboration applications, project management and graphic design tools, (WordPress, Adobe Suite, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, or equivalent)
Preferred Qualifications- Current or previous experience working for The Walt Disney Company
- Awareness of or curiosity about environmental sustainability
- Active portfolio of current work and writing samples
Education- Bachelor’s degree in communications, public affairs, environmental sustainability, or 5+ years of equivalent work experience
Preferred Education- Master’s degree in related field
