The Structural Engineer will be assigned to various construction projects and be responsible for designing and analyzing temporary structure designs to ensure constructability with contract documents, specifications and regulatory requirements.
- Provides constructability and technical design input on temporary works construction designs to ensure compliance with contract specifications and regulatory requirements.
- Designs and drafts construction methods for temporary works (falsework, shoring, temporary bridges, formwork, slopes, etc.), ensuring completeness and accuracy with regulatory standards and within the contract specifications.
- Reviews personal and peer design elements to optimize project constructability, cost effectiveness and material quantities.
- Submits designs for peer review or approval review in an accurate and timely manner to avoid construction delays on the project site. Senior engineer or manager to seal designs following approval review.
- Maintains knowledge of Flatiron's company values and strategic plan.
- Support published corporate policies.
- Perform additional assignments per management's direction.
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering with emphasis in Structural Engineering
- 5+ years of engineering experience required; or 3+ years of experience with a Master's Degree
- Experience in construction engineering preferred
- Professional Engineer License (PE) required (NY preferred)
- Experience using AutoCAD, Mathcad, Bluebeam required
- Experience using SAP2000 required
- Experience with Revit is a plus
