Duties:
The WOCN serves as a clinical resource and consultant to the medical staff, nursing staff, other hospital and affiliate personnel and patients in assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care for patients with ostomies, wounds, fistulae, incontinence, and actual or potential skin breakdown. Utilizes the nursing process to care for pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients based on current standards of practice. Functions within the permissible scope of nursing practice as defined by the Georgia Board of Nursing and St. Joseph's/Candler Health System policies and procedures. Work effectively with fellow employees, MDs, and patients, as well as general public. Developing, motivation, assessing, and negotiating are required in positions which causes change or to obtain agreements to enhance organizational effectiveness.
Requirements:
Bachelors of Nursing - Required
WOCN certification - Required
3-5 Acute Care Nursing Years - Required
Registered Nursing License with State of Practice - Required
1 WOCN Year - Preferred
