Job Description:
We are seeking a Specialist, Quality Engineering to work at either our existing state-of-the-art Advanced Manufacturing Facility (AMF) in Toney, AL, and/or our new AMF site located in Huntsville, AL in support of Program Quality Engineering functions. In this role, you'll serve as a liaison between the manufacturing site, program office, and customer. Working under general supervision, you'll develop plans to meet requirements and operational goals with a significant impact on department results, using expertise in quality processes and project management. You'll effectively communicate within and outside your team, explaining operational processes and taking initiative as the functional leader for assigned programs/products.
Essential Functions:
Leverages engineering expertise to facilitate communication and coordination among Integrated Product Team (IPT) members, suppliers, program office, and customers. Ensures that hardware specifications and key quality metrics are met or ensures corrective actions are implemented and verified effective.
- Apply modern quality principles and methods, including Lean and Six Sigma, to aerospace manufacturing operations.
- Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and contractual requirements to ensure compliance and flowdown of applicable requirements.
- Lead or interface with the Material Review Board (MRB) for nonconforming material disposition.
- Develop and implement quality assurance processes for high product and service standards.
- Investigate production issues, conduct root cause analysis, take corrective actions, and verify effectiveness.
- Analyze manufacturing quality data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Lead data-driven continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and manufacturing process efficiency.
- Interface with Supplier Quality Engineering to resolve supplier-related issues.
- Work with Integrated Product Teams (IPT) to identify and mitigate program risks.
- Present quality metrics to customers, providing assessment and actions to drive improvement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior Quality Engineer relevant experience.
- Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior Quality Engineer related experience.
- In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior Quality Engineer related experience.
