Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Subsystems Mechanical Engineer/Principal Subsystems Mechanical Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Palmdale, CA and is assigned to the 4/10-1st Shift, (Mon-Thu) - 10 hours/day schedule.
This position may be filled by either a Subsystems Mechanical Engineer level or a Principal Subsystems Mechanical Engineer level based on the qualifications listed.
Essential Functions:
Develop solutions to difficult problems that are thorough, imaginative, practical, and consistent with program objectives while keeping the statement of work and design requirements in focus.
Coordination and clear communication with other disciplines, customer, and suppliers during the development of design solutions.
Concise presentation and explanation of system design issues/solutions to internal management and customer representatives.
Development and review of completed models, drawings, and repairs for accuracy, clarity, and completeness.
Evaluation of engineering products for conformity to standards, procedures, and specifications.
Basic Qualifications:
Subsystems Mechanical Engineer (T02):
Bachelor of Science Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) related field with 2 or more years of engineering experience or MS with 0 years or more year of engineering experience or Ph.D. with 0 or more years of engineering experience
Active in-scope DOD Secret clearance
Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (SAP/PAR) (Not needed to start)
Experience in a combination of ECS, Fuel, Powerplant, Landing Gear, and Hydraulic installations.
Experience and ability to work with the manufacturing team, support A/V testing, and support A/V integration as needed.
High level of proficiency using CATIA V5 in the development of aircraft Subsystem Installations.
Basic Qualifications:
Principal Subsystems Mechanical Engineer (T03):
Bachelor of Science Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) related field with 5 or more years of engineering experience or MS in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) related field with 3 years of engineering experience or PhD in STEM.
Active in-scope DOD Secret clearance
Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (SAP/PAR) to start (Not needed to start)
Experience in a combination of ECS, Fuel, Powerplant, Landing Gear, and Hydraulic installations.
Experience and ability to work with the manufacturing team, support A/V testing, and support A/V integration as needed.
High level of proficiency using CATIA V5 in the development of aircraft Subsystem Installations.
Preferred Qualifications:
Secret or Top Secret clearance preferred.
5 years or more Aerospace Subsystems design experience using CATIA V5.
Experience working on Special Access Programs
Experience working on military aircraft
Salary Range: $87,200 - $130,800
Salary Range 2: $107,300 - $160,900
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
