We are currently hiring a Radio Frequency (RF) / Electrical (EE)-focused Responsible Systems Engineer (RSE) supporting RF systems to join the Effectors Systems Design & Architecture (SDA) organization located in Tucson, AZ.

As Systems Engineer, you will be expected to gain in-depth knowledge of an RF and/or Electrical, and/or signal processing focused subsystem. You will collaborate with other Engineering disciplines to help define requirements, interfaces, subsystem behavior, and how the subsystem will integrate into the overall system and architecture. Additionally you will perform requirements flow down and allocation to subsystems as well as develop the requirements traceability verification matrix. Depending on your level experience, you will also have the opportunity to guide and mentor other team members and take partial ownership for the overall Effector system level and subsystem level requirements baseline. Our RSEs work both in the office and spend hands-on time with the hardware during design, integration and design verification testing at multiple levels from subsystem design to system level flight testing.
What You Will Do
Develop and maintain RF and EE-related system and subsystem level requirements specifications to include interfaces, behaviors, architecture and verification environments
SE technical expert for RF and EE-related verification and validation efforts, ensuring all requirements are being assessed during Design Verification Testing, Format Qualification Testing, and Hardware Qualification
You will perform requirements flow down / allocation and traceability along with development of the Requirements Verification Matrix.
Provide SE technical expertise in RF / EE integration, troubleshooting and failure investigations
Lead technical discussions, and formulate plans of action by leveraging company Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) across multiple engineering disciplines
Lead technical conversations with the customer and suppliers
Qualifications You Must Have
Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and five (5) years of experience in one or more of the following technical domains, OR an Advanced STEM degree and minimum 3 years of professional experience in the following technical domains:
Systems engineering, architecture, and/or design
System performance and analysis
Algorithms and signal processing
Electronics (circuit card assemblies, subassemblies, complete systems) requirements, integration, and verification
RF Sensor sub-systems requirements, integration, and verification
Configurable Logic / Firmware / VHDL architecture, design, development, integration, and verification
Experience capturing system requirements and maintaining system requirements
Experience performing requirements definition, decomposition, and changes
Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Qualifications We Prefer
Experience using Agile framework development methods/processes
Experience using Azure DevOps methods/tools
Past work experience in a challenging fast paced environment
Experience with Matlab, C, C#, C++, Python
Ability to perform trade studies to optimize system performance
Understanding of Systems Engineering Product Development Cycle
Experience evaluating and mitigating technical risks
Prior work experience giving technical briefs or presentations
Strong verbal and written communication skills

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
