SUMMARY
The Chest Pain Coordinator is a professional nurse who has the authority and responsibility to monitor cardiac patient care through intervention(s), ICU care, stabilization, rehabilitation care and discharge, including cardiac patient process improvement. The coordinator participates in a leadership role in the hospital and the community. The coordinator ensures compliance with regulatory agencies. The Coordinator provides staff education for the ED, Physicians and Critical care areas; collaborates with the Director of Clinical Quality Improvement for all PI related to the cardiac patient; collaborates with the Chest Pain Center Medical Director regarding education for the ED physicians; responsible for development and updates of internal Policies and Procedures. The Coordinator assists with the day to day operation of the CV departments; this includes assistance with all personnel invasive cardiology procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Required Licenses/Certifications
- Current RN, RCVT, RTR and/or RCIS licensure
- BLS, ACLS
- Any other certifications staff nurses in area managed are required.
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
- Demonstrated proficiency in acute care nursing, knowledge and skills.
- Ability to use computer driven patient care equipment.
- Excellent organization and communication skills
- able to work well in a fast paced environment; able to handle multiple priorities at one time
- able to supervise multiple areas
