In this role, you will:
- Follow all New York Health policies and procedures
- Update and maintain all electronic patient records and assist in transitioning hard copy records to digital format
- Manage Physician inbox and prioritize tasks assigned via EMR system
- Perform office callbacks to patients, physicians, and other health care facilities
- Assist in maintaining the medical inventory and placing orders for new materials as needed
- Clean and prepare examination rooms prior to patient appointments
- Record patient information such as vital signs, weight and changes in medical history prior to each appointment
- Escort patients to exam rooms, interview patients, measure vital signs, including
weight, blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and document all information in patient’s chart and open wallboards for patient to self complete any outstanding documents needed
- Record patient interview, history, and chief complaint
- Provide patient education with regards to medications, management of diseased, home treatments and special diets
- Prepare patients for examinations, performs routine screening tests, and assists physicians with exams
- Perform basic lab tests such as phlebotomy, collection of other lab specimens, and EKGs
- Prepare and administers Injections and documents medication under a physician’s order and follows the five (5) medication rights and reduces the potential for medical error
We require:
- Current NYS LPN license required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Previous experience in a lead role or demonstrated potential to act in a lead capacity
- Previous outpatient experience preferred
- Must demonstrate consistent professional conduct and meticulous attention to detail
- Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as excellent interpersonal skills with patients, staff, and other health care professionals
- Proficiency in ONCOemr
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Prolonged periods of standing, bending and reaching
- Frequent exposure to chemicals, bloodborne pathogens, and patient bodily fluids
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times
- Travel to any of the NYH location
Hours: 8.5 hour shifts between the hours of 8am-6pm
Monday-Friday Alt Saturdays
Salary up to $40/hr based on experience & education
