Job Title: Nurse Practitioner
Job Summary:
Responsible for diagnoses, treatment, and consultation, performing independently or as a part of a team. Educate patients about prescribed treatments and preventative care. Conduct patient exams, perform physicals, order tests, prescribe medications and serve as a primary healthcare provider or as an entry point into a multi-disciplinary medical practice.
Nurse Practitioner Role and Responsibilities:
- Admit patients into the Orthopedics Surgery program and/or Urgent Care program
- Perform history and physicals for all new patients admitted into the programs
- Diagnose conditions and plan appropriate care plans
- Conduct patient clinics independently and in support of the programs
- Prescribe and order diagnostic tests, medications, and interventional procedures
- Refer patients for surgical consultation when necessary
- Prescribe and refer to ancillary services, including but not limited to, physical therapy, massage. therapy, chiropractic, acupuncture, aquatic therapy, personal training program
- Educate patients about diagnosis, treatment options, treatment types, preventative care
- Participate in on call rotation for the practice
- Provide leadership and guidance, and ensure cohesiveness for support staff, including but not limited to the MA’s, billers, collectors, and front office staff
Nurse Practitioner Required Qualifications:
- Master’s or doctoral degree program from an accredited university
- Minimum of 2 years in an operating room setting experience; preferably in an ambulatory surgery center
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Current APRN license in the state of Georgia
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
