Position Summary
The Materials Handler receives, stores and distributes materials, supplies and equipment; takes inventory; documents all receipts and issues of stock; and assists with special projects. Maintain sufficient par levels of essential supplies for all assigned areas. Coordinates work closely with other staff within the department of Materials Management. Restocks Code Carts as assigned. Rotation of supplies to ensure that supplies are used prior to expiration and there are no expired products or supplies in any supply locations. Reorders supplies by the use of the MMIS (SMART) to see that appropriate PAR levels are maintained. SPIS supplies or REQ supplies as needed.
Reports to: Director of Materials Management
Responsibilities of the Position
Managing par levels of supplies.
Ordering of supplies to reach par levels.
Requisitioning of supplies.
Delivering supplies.
Receiving supplies from Couriers, Fed-Ex, UPS, Freight.
Checking on backorders.
Rotating of stock.
Cleaning of Supply rooms.
Organizing of Supply Rooms.
Counting of Inventory.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Education
High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Required Skills
Excellent attention to detail.
Strong organizational, computer, and communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Critical thinking skills, requires working with minimal supervision, must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Must be a self-starter, have a strong work ethic, and be able to quickly shift priorities in a busy work environment.
Minimum Work Experience
2 Years of Inventory Control or Warehouse Experience is preferred.
