As a Geriatric Nurse Practitioner You Will:
- Act as a primary care provider for elderly participants in community and nursing home settings.
- Provide routine, episodic, and urgent care.
- Collaborate with the primary care physician to perform semiannual assessments and examinations.
- Develop and implement care plans with the interdisciplinary team.
- Communicate with consultants and integrate their recommendations into care plans.
- Prescribe medications in accordance with state regulations and health center policy.
- Provide education and support to nursing staff.
- Attend interdisciplinary team meetings.
- Maintain appropriate medical records and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare guidelines and maintain appropriate licensure.
Qualifications We're Looking For:
- Advanced practice nurse with MSN degree and board certification.
- Licensed as a Nurse Practitioner in Massachusetts.
- At least one year of experience working with the geriatric population.
- Experience working in an interdisciplinary team.
- Comfort working in a multicultural healthcare environment.
- Knowledge and comfort working in a managed care setting.
