Job Summary:
The Processing Guidance and Controls Center (PGC) within Systems Engineering seeks talented engineers to support our effectors programs. The PGC team combines the performance disciplines of Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis (MSA), Signal Processing (SP), and Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) to provide robust effectors solutions for the warfighter. The PGC center specializes in providing SP and GNC solutions in integrated flight simulations that support the lifecycle of the product, from conceptual design and trades, to development, even before the target hardware is available, to evaluating the system performance and reducing the number of trials required before fielding a product.
The GNC Department is seeking a Senior Manager to perform in the role of Section Leader. This role will support the technical growth and career development of a group of about 10+ GNC engineers, contribute to the technical execution of the department in our programs, and help the section stay compliant with company policies and procedures.
This position is an onsite role in Tucson, AZ.
What You Will Do
- The GNC Section Lead will have a technical role on at least one program in addition to performing the day-to-day leadership of a group of GNC engineers, with the primary responsibility of ensuring that each employee has suitable work assignments and opportunities for growth and advancement.
- Perform management tasks for a section of 8-18 members.
- Your duties will include performance development and appraisal, salary planning, manpower planning, career coaching, and ensuring adherence to company policies.
- You will contribute to the technical oversight of employees, monitor program execution, and provide subject matter expertise in direct support of program efforts and proposal activities.
- Active participation in both recruiting and retention activities.

They will be able to grow their network within and outside their discipline. The candidate will also learn about how the technology is evolving to support our technical roadmaps and needs.
Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires a Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of prior guidance engineering experience.
- Minimum of 6 years of GNC experience with missile system applications.
- Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Qualifications We Prefer
- Advanced degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Physics or Applied Mathematics.
- Top Secret clearance
- Strong knowledge of fundamental concepts, with high level of analytical ability to drive technical solutions
- Prior experience in a functional or technical leadership role
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively across all levels and disciplines.

The salary range for this role is 118,000 USD - 246,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
