- Job Summary: The Registered Nurse is responsible for identifying the treatment needs of the clients and making sure, they are met in accordance with Agency policies, procedures, state and federal guidelines and regulations. All job responsibilities with this position need to be in alignment with value-based health/payment. It is the responsibility of this position to know and understand the specific implications of VBH/VBP on day-to-day duties on the job.
Essential Job Duties And Responsibilities
The overall responsibilities of this position that cannot be delegated include:
Responsible for adhering to the standards of care to ensure program clients receive preventative, routine, ongoing, follow up and emergency medical services.
On a daily basis, the RN is responsible for delivering optimal care by:
Assessing and coordinating all the medical needs of the program clients- .Maintaining the health and well-being of clients
- .Accurately documenting all medical services provided to clients
- .Communicating with medical service providers, client emergency contacts, and program staff, and then documenting the communication
- .Maintaining the medical chart in accordance with FFS policy and procedure, OASAS regulation, HIPPA, and 42 CFR
- .Reviewing the proper distribution and documentation of the distribution, of all medications
- .Reporting any and all medication or documentation errors, as outlined in FFS policy and procedure, to a program director or his/her designee
- .Insuring all prescribed and over-the-counter medications are secured, inventoried, administered, and recorded in compliance with FFS policy and procedures
- .Maintain the Nursing “station” to meet program needs
- .Provide support as needed for medical related services, i.e., methadone, etc
- .Completes daily inventory of methadone and Suboxone in accordance with all state and federal regulations
- .Prepares and dispenses methadone and Suboxone in accordance with all state and federal regulations
- .Work with treatment team to develop the medical plan of action as reflected in the Treatment Plan
- .Responsible for the scheduling of client medical care
- .Provide emergency first-aid and determine if additional medical intervention is necessary
- .Engage in clinical programming as directed
- .Conduct ongoing health related in-service trainings and classes including but not limited to

- lPersonal Hygien
- eCold/Hot weather-related health issue
- sInteract with community resources regarding health-related issues
- .Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned

Qualifications
Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse in New York State preferably with experience in the Chemical Dependency and/or Mental Health field; support the goal of abstinence from mood altering substances unless prescribed by a physician knowledgeable of addiction and must subscribe to a Professional Canon of Ethics.
