General Description:
The midwife provides independent management of health care for women at Evara Health from adolescence through menopause, focusing particularly on pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum, family planning, and the gynecological needs of women. Evara Health will assure access to a health care system that provides for consultation, collaborative management or referral as indicated by the health status of client. The CNM will practice in accord with the Standards for the Practice of Nurse-Midwifery, as defined by the American College of Nurse Midwives, the ACNM Guidelines for the Incorporation of New Procedures into Nurse-Midwifery Practice, the laws of the State of Florida, and the Clinical Practice Guidelines developed by the practice.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Clinical- provides health care through health promotion, illness prevention and health restoration for women. Primary responsibilities include but not limited to:
- History and Physical Exams
- Medical and/or nursing diagnosis
- Diagnostic evaluations including the ordering and review of appropriate radiographic and laboratory tests, and consultations
- Formulating patient treatment plans, including prescribing medications and follow up
- Management of pregnancy, labor and birth attendance at the hospital where privileges are obtained.
- Counseling and teaching as appropriate
- Consultation, Collaboration and Referral as needed
- Administrative-
- Attends provider meetings
- Assists Director of CNM’s in maintaining protocols
- Documents appropriately for QA-QI evaluation.
- Attends appropriate continuing education sessions to maintain state licensure as an ARNP and Certification by the ACNM or ACC
- CNM’s who are National Health Service Corps scholars or loan re-payers will be authorized to attend NHSC conferences and trainings
- Participates in Peer review activities
- Keeps current any hospital requirements for privileges
- Be a team player
- Educational-
- Teaches patients and families health promotion and illness prevention strategies through both internal and external sources
- Mentors and serves as a preceptor to health care students
- May be required to float throughout company locations or other departments, as needed

Minimum Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited ACNM certification program
- Preferred: Three (3) years of CNM practice experience in a clinic or hospital-based setting
- Valid and current Florida APRN-Nurse Midwife license
- ACNM/ACC Certification or eligible
