Overview: The Perinatal Sonographer WEO performs perinatal and diagnostic ultrasound exams, while adhering to regulatory and professional standards to aid in the diagnosis, monitoring, and management of pregnancies and related medical conditions. This position supports collaboration with Maternal Fetal Care management, Radiology management, and other medical staff to provide care to patients undergoing ultrasound procedures. The Perinatal Sonographer's knowledge of ultrasound equipment, structured reporting, and image management is crucial for accurate diagnoses and optimal patient care. This role has a weekend option, in which the staff member is required to commit to Weekend Exclusive Option (WEO) requirements and work two shifts within the WEO window for a premium rate. Responsibilities: Performs routine and special ultrasound examinations following established protocols in Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM) and Radiology to ensure accurate and comprehensive diagnostic imaging.
Demonstrates competency in procedures such as Chorionic Villi Sampling, Amniocentesis, Amnio-reduction, and Fetal Doppler flow studies, while obtaining and maintaining additional certifications as required to enhance the diagnostic capabilities and treatment options available for patients.
Completes all exams and documentation consistently Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) and the obstetrics and gynecology reporting system to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, support quality assurance, and facilitate accurate retrieval and interpretation of patient records.
Identifies and records all charges associated with exams, proactively addressing errors and resolving issues related to the final product sent to PACS to promote financial integrity and billing accuracy.
Demonstrates commitment to safe practices, Just Culture, and adherence to ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) principles to minimize risks, prevent errors, and ensure the wellbeing of patients and staff.

EDUCATION: Required: Associates Degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography from a school that is accredited by CAAHEP (Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs)
EXPERIENCE: Required: 3-5 years of OB/MFM experience
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING: Required: American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers with OB-GYN registry; must have credentials on hire date and maintain at all times. CLEAR certifications obtained within 2 years of hire date.
