Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems sector is seeking a highly motivated Principal / Senior Principal System Engineer (Level 3/4) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our System Test Team based out of Melbourne, FL.
In this role, you will primarily support the E-2D Mission System programs. You will provide support for all system test activities, to include test planning, creation of required test procedures, post-test data analysis, creation of problem reports, and reporting on test results. The selected candidate shall display professionalism, leadership, have a strong work ethic, while be able to work well with others, and be able to function as member of the E-2D System Test Team.
Key Responsibilities may include:
• Test/team lead developing and executing Link-16 testing requirements.
• Assist in development, execution and peer review of test procedures
• Participate in both Formal and Non-Formal Test execution events
• Provide technical support and guidance to junior engineers
• Participate in test planning, problem report validation testing, and post testing data analysis
• Provide support in the creation of required test artifacts used for official PCM and SRM releases to our customer
• Lead potential moderate size test efforts and events in support of System Test leadership
• Attend and participate in all E2D System Test meetings

Basic Qualifications:
This requisition may be filled at either the Principal OR Senior Principal level based on qualifications listed, below
Principal System Engineer (Level 3)
- Must have a Bachelor of Science Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) discipline and 5 years of qualifiable related professional/military experience in Systems Test or related field; OR Master of Science Degree in a STEM discipline and 3 years of qualifiable related professional/military experience in Systems Test or related field; OR PhD in a STEM discipline and 0 years of qualifiable related professional/military experience in Systems Test or related field
- Demonstrated experience with Link-16 (Concept of Operations /J-Series Messages / software/hardware testing or troubleshooting during Lab or Ground operations)
- Must have an active DoD Secret Clearance or higher (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation)
- Must have ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret Clearance and Special Program Access (PAR) within a reasonable period, as determined by the company to meet its business needs
Senior Principal System Engineer (Level 4)
- Must have a Bachelor of Science Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) discipline and 9 years of qualifiable related professional/military experience in Systems Test or related field; OR Master of Science Degree in a STEM discipline and 7 years of qualifiable related professional/military experience in Systems Test or related field; OR PhD in a STEM discipline and 4 years of qualifiable related professional/military experience in Systems Test or related field
- Demonstrated experience with Link-16 (Concept of Operations /J-Series Messages / software/hardware testing or troubleshooting during Lab or Ground operations)
- Must have an active DoD Secret Clearance or higher (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation)
- Must have ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret Clearance and Special Program Access (PAR) within a reasonable period, as determined by the company to meet its business needs
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master of Science Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) discipline
- Experience generating technical documents and working with varied software/data processing tools such as MS Word, MS Excel, PowerPoint, and varied programming languages
- Experience with Software test automation
- Active DoD Top Secret Clearance
- Current E2 program clearance
- Previous E-2D Hawkeye experience
- Extensive knowledge in Link-16 transmitting and exchanging data links
- Extensive SATCOMM and Radio testing/troubleshooting on aircraft or in the labs
- Extensive knowledge in the implementation of Link-16 messages
- Knowledge of Link-16 MIL-STD-6016, Link-16 MIDS JTRS terminal operating capabilities and/or Link-16 test tools to include Battlefield Operation Support System (BOSS)
Salary Range: $92,600 - $139,000
Salary Range 2: $114,900 - $172,300
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
