Salary Range: $135,000 - $153,000 Per Year

Each day in our Pediatric-Neonatal unit is unique, and your ability to remain calm and responsive in unexpected situations can change the future of our newborn patients. We are seeking an NP who can establish a meaningful connection with parents, providing them with the assurance that their babies are in good hands. Your supportive, communicative, and personalized approach will make a significant difference in the health and wellness of our youngest patients.
Under the direction of the Neonatologist, the selected NP will provide high-quality patient care to neonates in our NICU and Newborn Nursery in compliance with the Department of Pediatrics' standards, policies, and procedures.
Primary responsibilities:
· Collaborate with the Neonatologist to effectively evaluate and manage neonates
· Ensure compliance with standards, policies and procedures
· Develop and implement therapeutic plan of care and continually evaluate patient care and outcomes
· Perform newborn screening collections and other medical procedures
· Assess and interpret the physical and psychosocial state of babies and their families
· Provide in-service for residents and educate medical students and residents
To be successful in this role, the NP should have:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
· Master’s Degree in Nursing – Pediatric Nurse Practitioner
· New York State RN and NP license; certification as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner
· Minimum 5 years’ neonatal nursing experience providing primary care to children of a variety of ages
· BCLS, PALS and NRP
· Credentialed in procedures performed in the neonatal care area
· Extensive knowledge of the development and implementation of neonatal care
· Solid communication and interpersonal skills
