Job description
Granite Bay Care provides comprehensive clinical services for both Granite Bay Care and external clients. Clinical services are provided in both a residential and outpatient setting consistent with State of Maine Behavioral Regulations. The clinical department ensures clinical consultation services designed to enhance the individual's served well-being and overall quality of life. This position is focused on providing outpatient, individual counseling for individuals with co-occurring disorders which include intellectual/developmental disabilities, mental health disorder(s) and/or substance use disorder(s) which may include a history of high-risk behaviors and/or criminal offenses.
Primary Job Duties:
Provide comprehensive outpatient individual mental health counseling for clients with co-occurring mental health disorders and intellectual/developmental disabilities.
Conduct biopsychosocial assessments and work with Clinical Director and team to ensure proper diagnosis of individuals served.
Develop and review treatment plans collaboratively with client and treatment team members.
Write behavior management and positive support plans in conjunction with state and federal guidelines.
Refer clients to appropriate services as needed.
Advocate on behalf of service recipients to ensure well-being and quality of life.
Provide crisis intervention consultation to all members of the client's team.
Provide clinical training to residential staff in conjunction with training services under the direction of the Clinical Director as needed.
Provide weekly group therapy for residential clients as needed.
Participate in mandatory weekly one-hour individual supervision with Clinical Director, which meets State of Maine Board of Social Work consultation requirements for licensing.
Maintain professional boundaries as outlined by the NASW Code of Ethics
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
Required:
Master's degree in one of the following or related fields: Social Work, Counseling, Clinical Psychology.
Two to three years of experience working in community mental health, demonstrating clinical understanding of intellectual disabilities.
Must meet the requirements of a qualified mental health professional within the State of Maine: LMSW-cc, LMSW, LCPC, LCPC-c, or LMFT
Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills; must be able to read, write and verbally communicate in English.
Exhibit integrity and strong ethics.
Valid driver's license.
Safe and reliable automobile.
Active automobile insurance policy.
Preferred:
Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
Experience in the development of functional assessments, positive supports, and behavior management plans
Ability to Manage a full-time caseload effectively.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate in various forms. This position does require standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and stooping throughout the day and may be presented with clients with challenging verbal and physical behaviors. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move items over 20 pounds.
