MI Express Urgent & Primary Care in Canton and Ann Arbor, is looking for both full time and part time/contingent Family Nurse Practitioners and Physician's Assistants/Associates that can provide professional medical care in our expanding urgent and primary care centers for all patients. Our ideal candidate should be able to maintain a professional working relationship with the management & staff and should be able to work independently in an office setting. Our clinic style if very family oriented with our team members valuing comradery. We are looking for candidates that are personable and down to earth while maintaining good detail oriented and evidence based work ethic. You would function as a leader of the team on site. The Medical Director is always available for phone or electronic communication on days they may not be on site. Must be proficient in all urgent care procedures such as reading ekgs and xrays, wound care, laceration repair, pressure bandaging, and splinting as well as the additional urgent and primary care needs listed below
Responsibilities
● Taking patient histories
● Instructing and counseling patients
● Referring patients to appropriate community resources
● Obtaining patient management consults
● Performing physical examinations, annual, medicare wellness, etc
● Recording information into the patient chart
● Performing or assisting in laboratory procedures
● Performing or assisting in patient screening procedures
● Performing diagnostic and therapeutic studies
● Ordering and interpreting diagnostic laboratory tests and radiological studies
● Ordering medications and other therapies
● Interpretation of 12 lead EKG, Digital X-ray, Lab study/results.
● Perform procedures including laceration repair, I&D, Finger/Toenail removal, reductions of common dislocation and/or fractures, Initiate IV fluids, CPR, AED, ACLS, minor foreign body removal, including superficial cornea foreign body, etc - common to Urgent Care
● Ability to recognize potential life, limb, or ocular emergencies
● Effectively communicate with patients, staff, community, and physicians.
● Coordinate care with appropriate providers for referrals, transfers, primary care providers, and counseling.
● Compliance with medical documentation and submission of ICD/Procedure codes
● Managing primary care inbox and patient messages, refills
● Obesity/Medical Weight Loss will be part of the practice with medical direct providing guidance as a board certified obesity specialist
● IV Hydration Lounge will be part of the practice
Qualifications
● Required: 1 year of Urgent Care or ED experience.
● Graduate of an approved Physician Assistant Program or FNP program
● NCCPA or ANCC Certification
● Active license to practice as a PA or FNP - State of Michigan
● Active DEA Certification - Schedule II-V
Desired Qualifications (can obtain after hire)
● FMCSA/DOT - Certification desired (or willing to obtain within 3 months of hire)
● Experience 1 years minimum in Emergency Medicine or Urgent - Care preferred
● Primary Care Experience preferred-training can be provided
● Obesity Medicine/Weight Loss Management preferred -training an be provided by our medical director
● Must be able to work autonomously but also follow guidance
Preferred Experience:
● ER/UC or Primary Care: 1 year
● EMR Systems: Athena, Prognocis

Salary Range: Starting at $50+ per hour (negotiable)
