Position Summary
Provides direct patient care to patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice. Communicate with surgeon and anesthesiologist continuously and as needed concerning patient condition. Assess operating room for equipment functioning and readiness, obtain supplies for individual cases, and ensures all appropriate needs of operating team are met. Monitors positions and assist patient during procedure. Participates in performance improvement, quality assurance and departmental meetings
Job Requirements
Required Licenses
Registered Nurse
Current Registered Nurse Licensure to practice in the state of Kentucky OR a Current Registered Nurse Licensure with a multistate compact status.
Minimum Work Experience
One (1) year work experience in the Operating Room preferred.
Required Certifications & Skills :
- Current American Heart Association BLS certification or obtain within 90 days after hire date.
- Current American Heart Association ACLS Certification (or) obtained within 6 months after hire date.
- Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
- Language Skills: Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
